5 Day Migration Highlights (5 days, 4 nights SNP & NCA)

Day 1: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early morning breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up with a picnic lunch enroute to a full day Ngorongoro Crater tour. The Ngorongoro Crater often called “Africa’s Eden” and is one of the “8th Natural Wonders of the World”.

The Ngorongoro Crater was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain believed to be bigger that Mt. Kilimanjaro, sinking due to inactivity.

The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s eco-system. The crater is a caldera, and the rim walls stand 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking.

The crater is home to over 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of enough water throughout the wet and dry seasons.

Day 4: North Serengeti (Mara)

As the herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle make their daring river crossings, you'll feel the raw power of nature as predators lie in wait, hoping to seize the opportunity for a meal.

Capture breathtaking moments as lion prides stalk their prey, and cheetahs sprint across the savannah in pursuit of their next meal. The Great Migration is nature's ultimate game of survival, and you'll have a front-row seat to all the action.

River crossings at Kogatende start to occur every day as the mega herd settles into the area. From August to October, game viewing in the area is superb with river crossings guaranteed pretty much every day.

There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and fresh grass. It is not uncommon to see various herds crossing at different directions on the same day.
